February is for romance of all kinds! This intimate watercolor class is at one of the sexiest venues in Portland. You'll learn to paint beach sunsets on postcard paper that you can send to your Valentine or keep for yourself. No experience necessary and all supplies included. Tickets include one glass of wine!

I'll teach you how to paint a beautiful beach sunset with watercolors! We will warm up by exploring our color palette as always. I will begin by demonstrating some techniques to landscape painting in watercolor, focusing on how to get that perfect sunset gradient with the right colors. We'll then apply these skills to a full painting based on a reference photo I've provided. You're also welcome to bring your own reference photo if you'd like to make your postcard extra personal!

You'll take home a finished painting on postcard paper that is ready to stick in the mail! You'll also leave with a set of artist's skills that you'll be able to directly apply to future paintings - whether you paint in your bedroom or plein air out in nature. A limited palette of watercolors and high quality watercolor postcard paper will be provided at the event, but you are encouraged to bring your favorite painting supplies as well.
